Remembering the Six Million in CT
On Friday, Jan. 27, at the request of the Jewish Federations Association of CT (JFACT), the Travelers Tower and the Stilts Building in downtown Hartford, Conn., were lit up yellow in memory of the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust.
On Sunday, Jan. 29, JFACT and Voices of Hope co-sponsored an International Holocaust Remembrance Day event at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford, Connecticut. Taking part in the commemoration were Sen. Derek Slap, Rep. Tammy Exum and Sen. Matt Lesser.
“A special thank you to Rep. Bobby Gibson for talking about HB6203, which asks the state for additional funding to help implement Holocaust and Genocide education to our students,” noted JFACT Director Michael Bloom.
